The Intrinsic TrinityDid God create us because He was bored and lonely ???
Arcs in Four Dimensions - by Sol Lewitt ABSTRACT: In this essay, I hope to give a glimpse of what God was and is like without human beings. I also hope to show that being a Christian means never being bored, never being lonely, and so on. John 1v.1:
Lets go back to the beginning...way way back to when, to before there were even humans walking on the face of the earth... way back to before there were even any angels traversing the heavens. How far back ? Before there was even the Creation. Before time itself was created ! How far ? As far back as John 1 v.1. This beginning even predates the "In the beginning " of Genesis 1v.1. Amen ! Hallelujah !!! This beginning that I speak of is so-far-back-in-time that, time itself did not
exist. To describe this state is very difficult for us time bound humans. To describe this state,
we are often tempted to say "There was a time before time itself existed." Huh ?
The best way around it that I have seen is to use the term 'Sans Creation'.
Thats French for "Without the Creation". You'll see.
Sans Creation, God was there. We were not there. Time, space and the creation
were not there. There was nothing. Not even angels. They were not yet created.
Only God was there.
So let me ask you a question: What was God doing sans creation ? Was God dead
bored twiddling his thumbs ? Was God lacking for things to do ? Was God lonely ???
- Remember, I want you to go so far back in time, that nothing has been created.
So far back that it does not even make sense to use the term "so far".
Further Questions: So what God doing then ??? What was the reason why God created us ? Did God create us because He was lonely ? Did God create us, the world, angels, bugs, critters, galaxies, and so on...so that He might have company ? Poor God. The answer to all of these is a loud "NO !!!!!" No, God was never lonely. No, God never was bored. No, God was not lacking of things to do. No, God did not create us to provide Him company. No. No. No !!!! Sans creation, what we find is the Divine Community. The Divine Community consisting of
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. A Community of mirth, love, joy, happiness, and all
of that good stuff. What we find in the Godhead is the persons of the Trinity, eternally giving
and receiving love from one another. Eternally in communication with one another -
intratrinitarian communication. This is a glimpse of the nature of God within Himself. This is the Immanent Trinity. It is also referred to as the Ontological Trinity. I think the easiest way to remember this, is with the term, the Intrinsic Trinity. What does the Intrinsic Trinity mean for us today ? We humans being are to model the life of the Intrinsic Trinity. - [FINISH LATER] - [Search for a way to explain this easier.] We ourselves are divided selves. We are divided into trinitarian selves ourselves. [Augustine's thought - Edwards quote]. We were not created to be lonely and bored !!!!! We were created to be in relation to God. [Back to Edwards] We were created to glorify God. God did not simply create us in order to love us, but rather the reverse. God created us in order to love him. Boredom and loneliness stem from a breakdown in relationships. It is when we are disconnected from the Vertical, and the Horizontal, that we start feeling bored, and lonely. "Love God and love man." with all your heart, soul and being... and your boredom will stop. Feeling lonely ? Go work in at a Resue mission and serve food to the poor. Feeling bored...get involved in Habitat for Humanity or some charitable activities around town, and you'll see your boredom die. [Finish all this later] by A. Raj Rao
