A GLOSSARY OF TERMS


GLOSSARIA : The phenomenon whereby one has completely mastered the recondite vocabulary associated with the Doctrine of the Trinity, and can speak it fluently, especially when inspired by the Holy Spirit.

distinct:

Dissimilarity of the Diverse:If x and y are distinct then there is at least one property that x has and y does not, or vice versa. - as formulated by the British Philosopher of Time - J.M.E. McTaggart

economic trinity:When we describe the acts of the triune God with respect to the creation, history, salvation, our daily lives, etc, we describe the Economic Trinity.

homoousia:
  To say that A is homoousios with B is to say that A is of an identical substance with B. Synon. = Consubstantial *Note - See homoiousia

homoiousia:
When we say that A is homoIousios with B, we mean that A is of similar substance with B.

hypostasis:


    Simple Definition :
    1) Person, 2)That which stands under. - Synon. w/ subsistence.

    Complicated Definition : A bit of a nightmare. I'm doing research right now on the history of the word, and hope to have my results out here eventually.

immanent trinity : 1) synonymous w/ ontological trinity, intrinsic trinity, 2)

Identity of Indiscernibles :
If everything that it true of a is true of b, and vice versa, then a and b are identical.

Indiscernability of Indenticals :
If a and b are identical, then everything that it true of a is true of b, and vice versa. - Synon. w/ Leibniz' Law
